With 'Vivegam' vacating the Independence Day weekend many Tamil films are trying to use the space and enjoy the benefits of releasing on the long weekend. However the first to grab a spot is none other than Udhayanidhi Stalin who is always known for announcing the release date of his films well in advance and sticking to deadlines.

It has been officially announced that Udhayanidhi Stalin's next film 'Podhuvaga Emmanasu Thangam' will be hitting the screens on August 11, 2017. The film is a rural entertainer directed by debutant Thalapathy Prabhu. The film stars Udhay and Nivetha Pethuraj in lead roles. R.Parthiban and Soori play important supporting roles. D.Imman has rendered the music score for this film produced by Thenandal Studios Limited.

Many other films are also trying to release their film for the long Independence Day weekend. It is widely speculated that Dhanush's 'Velai Illa Pattadhari 2' will also release for the Independence Day weekend. We will have to wait till 7 PM for the official announcement on the release date of 'VIP 2'.
