After huge social media outrage for posting a photo of the idol of lord Ganesh, DMK Youth Wing Secretary Udhayanidhi Stalin has now clarified that it was a picture of his daughter. Earlier on Monday, Udhayanidhi posted a photo of hands holding an idol days after the Vinayagar Chaturthi festival.
The photo turned controversial as supporters of the party turned against him on social media. Following this, Udhayanidhi posted a note explaining why he posted the image and said that his mother had bought the statue and his daughter saw the statue and asked how the statue is made and that he explained the statue is made of clay and will be dissolved in water. Udhayanidhi also mentioned that he explained it is the custom and that a new statue will be bought next year.
Udhayanidhi Stalin said that his daughter requested him to take a photo of her with the idol before dissolving, and he took the photo and as per her wishes shared the photo on Twitter.
