Udhayanidhi acquires 'Oru Kuppai Kathai'

Udhayanidhi Stalin is not only producer and actor but he is also a distributor who has acquired quality films with less popular stars and ensured their wider reach and theatrical release. Over the years, Udhay has done this for many films like 'Myna' and 'Neram' which were shot with less known actors and turned out to be a critically acclaimed successful films after release.

Now Udhay has acquired the release rights of 'Oru Kuppai Kathai' and will be releasing it under his Red Giant Movies banner. The film directed by debutant Kali Rangasamy will mark the debut of National Award winning choreographer Dinesh as a lead actor.

'Oru Kuppai Kathai' has been produced by Aslam, S. Aravindan and Ramadoss. Aslam has earlier directed the film 'Pagan' starring Srikanth and Janani Iyer. Kali Rangasamy has worked as the associate of Aslam in that film and assisted director Ezhil before that.

Aslam says this films is about the downtrodden people and it talks about the problems they face in the society. Udhayanidhi has been concentrating on the films. The producer says he requested Udhay to watch this film without having any hope that he will acquire and release the film. But Udhay liked the film instantly and congratulated the director and producer for making a film about an important issue. He also agreed to release the film under his banner.

Manisha Yadav has played the female lead in this film. Yogi Babi, George, Sujo Matthew and newcomer Kiran Aryan have played important supporting characters in the film.
