Abaddam was the film that was to decide on the fate of Uday Kiran's career.

The movie is completed and is all ready. But it is not making to the theaters.

Why? well, it is a question that has to be posed to the film's producer Prakash Raj.

The movie, by all accounts, has turned out very well. It stars Uday and newcomer Vimala in the leads. K Balachander, the veteran Tamil director, has handled the film. Vidyasagar has scored the music.

But the news is that Abaddam, which has been made as Poi in Tamil, is being held up as because the neighboring State is on the throes of an election fever.

The State is going for Assembly polls on May 8. With all the energies focused on polls, Prakash Raj does not want to risk a release now, sources say. 'It is up to Prakash Raj to decide on when to release the movie,' shrugs the director.

Since Prakash Raj is not releasing Poi now, Abaddam too has to wait.

And Uday too has to wait to know his fate.
