The theatrical trailer for 'U Turn' was launched today at a multiplex in Hyderabad. It was done amidst cinegoers.
Speaking on the occasion, Samantha Akkineni said, "Thanks to the media and everyone who have supported this event during the hard times because of Kerala floods and demise of former PM AB Vajpayee. But ours is a small film and hope everyone will understand. 'U Turn' is an honest attempt and everyone who has worked for this film gave their one hundred percent. I am confident that it is a good film and we have made a good product.
I hope all liked the trailer and I believe it is an honest representation of what you can expect in the film. This is the first time, I have worked with new producers and it’s a comfortable experience. My director Pawan Kumar is very supportive despite being a big director in Kannada.
I would like to continue to work with him in future. Thanks to Aadhi Pinisetty and Rahul Ravindran for being part of this film and they added so much value to it. Cinematographer Niketh has a long way to go in the industry."
Director Pawan Kumar said, "I met Samantha about three years back. It’s been a great journey to come to Telugu industry and do this film. I was born in Ananthapur. My mom is a Telugu and I grew watching a lot of Telugu films.
It's a coincidence that today is my mom's birthday and my first Telugu film trailer is launched on this very day. 'U Turn' making was fun and answering Samantha’s questions is kind of learning process for me. We have got a great cast for the film".
Rahul Ravindran said, "I and Samantha have worked together about 10 years back. She is a completely different person now and an incredible performer. Aadhi, I’m a huge fan of his voice, amazing voice he has and last time he did a police offer role in 'Vyshali'. That film was a super hit and hopefully, this film will also have the same result."
Aadhi Pinisetty said, "It was a pleasure working with this team and I can say one of my best working experiences due to a lot of reasons. After the first day shoot, I decided to blindly follow director Pawan, whatever he says. Coming to Samantha, though we worked in ‘Rangasthalam’ I did not get to know as a performer or a person but she is one of the best human beings I ever met and one of the best actresses."
The thriller will hit the screens on September 13.
