American envoy to the United Nations Nikki Haley has said that India can be of immense help to the U.S. not only in keeping an ‘eye’ on Pakistan but also in helping Afghan emerge as an economically viable nation.
Addressing an event in Washington organized by the U.S. India Friendship Council, Haley said that the U.S. was keen to forge stronger ties with India on defence and economi fronts. “President Trump has been taking strict against Pakistan for sponsoring and supporting terrorist activities on its soil. Pakistan was once a good friend of the U.S. but it didn’t reciprocate our many friendly gestures.
“Not only Pakistan but countries across the world should stop sponsoring or supporting terrorists who attempt to launch strikes in U.S. We are sure India and Pakistan understand this very well. India can be of huge help to U.S. in helping Afghan emerge as an economically strong nation with a stable Govt. in place.
“Both India and Afghanistan are our friendly countries and partners. India should come forward to offer more help in setting up infrastructure facilities in Afghan,” she concluded.
