Researchers in China have said that individuals with Type A blood are more likely to catch COVID-19 compared to Type O people. This likelihood is not small but significant.
"Those with Type A blood are more likely to die from the novel coronavirus," the study adds.
Daily Mail reports that "among COVID-19 patients, people with Type O accounted for just 25%, whereas Type A made up 41%." The percentages are worrisome for Type A people if you consider the fact that, in the general population, "Type O blood (34%) is more common than A (32%)."
"Research in Wuhan and Shenzhen (in China) indicates patients with blood type A had a higher rate of infection and tended to get more severe symptoms. Those with type O ‘had a significantly lower risk for the infectious disease’ compared to others," a report published by scmp.com says.
