The box-office results this Ramzan has brought cheers to Malluwood.

Four films were released on Ramzan- Santosh Shivan's Ananthabhadram, Mammooty's Raajamanikyam, Jayaram's much delayed Sarkardada and director Hariharan's Mayookham.

Meanwhile, two films Vadakkomnathan starring Mohanlal and Vinayan's Boyyfriennd opted out of the race.

Of the four films that made their way to the theatres,Santosh Shivan's Ananthabhadram and Mammooty-starrer Raajamanikyam have turned out to be big hits at the box office. Santosh Shivan's film has set records of sorts with its impressive opening.

Even before its release, Mammooty's Raajamanikyam was creating waves with distributors coming forward to offer exorbitant rates for the film.

The winner seems to be Mammooty's film.

But Jayaram's Sarkardada has come a cropper. This much-delayed film has not in any way helped his career.

Mayookham, too, has released after a delay. But this Hariharan film has not created the right ripples.
