Two jail officials face strictures, 5 years punishment

In the fake stamp paper scandal Abdul Karim Telegi is behind the bars. He is said to have continued his activity sitting in the Parappana Agrahara prison. For assisting Telagi in his stamp paper racket two jail officials have supported has surfaced.

Parappana Agrahara prison Superintendent PN Jayasimha and assistant Superintendent Nanjappa are facing five years of punishment and fine of Rs.50000.

An order to this effect was passed by Justice Ravi Malimath and Justice John Michael bench on Thursday.

Abdul Karim Telagi was arrested in the Rs.166 crore fake stamp paper scandal by Madivala Police station in 2001-2002.

The two jail officials have looked after Telagi with high living standards inside the prison that is outside the books of law.

The CBI looking in to it cleared the charges in the case of two officials. A criminal petition was later filed in High Court. Both the officials have completed three years and 10 months of imprisonment already.
