Two Congress CMs offered to resign after results

Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot has on Monday told the media that he and his Madhya Pradesh counterpart, Kamal Nath, had offered to resign after the May 23rd debacle. The Congress party was swept away in all 25 seats in Rajasthan, while it won just one out of 29 seats in MP.
"In a meeting with Rahul Gandhi ji, we did offer to resign. Resignations were put in the day the results come out. Chief Ministers have to offer their resignations, and then high command takes the decision on what to do next," he said.
Congress had won big-time in Rajasthan only in the December 2018 elections. Commentators credit Gehlot and Sachin Pilot for the victory. Same holds true for MP, wherein Kamal Nath and Jyotiraditya Scindia helped their party win. It's ironical that they offered to resign just six months later.
