Atman Simbu is currently shooting with Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan for the mega actioner "Thug Life," directed by Mani Ratnam. Meanwhile, the actor's magnum opus movie "STR 48" has been in pre-production for over a year. There is currently a lot of buzz surrounding "STR 48."

It is reported that 'STR 48' will start rolling in June. This film has Simbu playing dual roles set in a historical backdrop. Exciting news has emerged that the makers are said to be in talks with Bollywood actresses Janhvi Kapoor and Kiara Advani to play the leading ladies against STR's dual roles. If it is finalised, this will be the Tamil debut of both actresses.

'STR 48' is written and directed by Desingh Periasamy while Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan bankrolls the film under Raaj Kamal Films International. Sathyan Sooryan is said to be the cinematographer of this movie. This project is said to be the most expensive film in Simbu's career. More details on this project are awaited.
