Bollywood filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri's Twitter account has been suspended, allegedly because he is making a film titled 'The Kashmir Files'. The upcoming movie tells the story of the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in the early 1990s due to the Jihadist insurgency.
Several of his supporters are condemning Twitter for its arbitrary action. They are saying that the micro-blogging site has violated Vivek's freedom of expression even though he hasn't violated any of its guidelines.
It's expected that legal help will come Vivek's way soon. Recently, a journalist named Aarti Tikoo moved the court after her account was suspended in a similar fashion by Twitter. She won the case and her account was restored.
Vivek famously won the National Film Award for Best Screenplay - Dialogues for his 2019 film 'The Tashkent Files'. His upcoming movie, 'The Kashmir Files', features Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Pallavi Joshi, Puneet Issar, Prakash Belawadi.
