It has become a common phenomenon for hackers and miscreants to hack social media accounts of celebrities and actors and post unnecessary content on their profiles, misleading their followers.

The latest victim of this cyber crime is director Cheran who posted that someone was trying to hack his account and informed this to his followers, tweeting “Somebody's trying to hack my account.. So verified badge has been removed as their wish.. Hahaha... Any unwanted msgs received from my profile its not mine.. Kindly careful and away from these idiots.”

Cheran later tweeted that his account was recovered, and thanked Twitter India for the same. Cheran who had last directed Thirumanam released last year, is next planning to direct a movie starring Vijay Sethupathi in the lead.
