Strong public statements denouncing the murder of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Armstrong, who passed away last night, have been released by political leaders all throughout Tamil Nadu.
Among others, Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai and AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi Palaniswami have shown their shock and sorrow over the tragedy.
Annamalai added, “Tamil Nadu Bhujan Samaj Party State President Mr. Armstrong’s assassination is shocking and painful.” “I offer Armstrong’s bereaved family and his party members my most heartfelt sympathy.”
In his speech, Palaniswami pushed the Tamil Nadu government to act immediately and forcefully to stop such horrible atrocities going forward. “The Tamil Nadu government should adopt required measures to prevent such horrible crimes from happening again,” he said. “I ask you to preserve law and order free from compromise and guarantee everyone’s safety.”
The murder has rocked the state, and many demand faster punishment for those accountable as well as more security precautions. The incident emphasizes the pressing necessity of strong law enforcement and political figure protection in Tamil Nadu.
