Founder-member and ex-CEO of TV9, Ravi Prakash, was today arrested by Banjara Hills police from his residence. He was arrested as per a complaint against him and MKVN Murthy for "cheating, gross misappropriation of funds and causing wrongful loss to ABCPL and its shareholders by drawing huge sums without any proper authorization and approval".

As per early reports, Ravi Prakash was not given sufficient information by the police regarding the purpose of his arrest. He was seen asking questions to the police anxiously about the arrest.

The senior journalist, a star and a household name in the Telugu States, has been in the news for all the wrong reasons ever since he fell out with the new management of TV9, the most-watched news channel. He has been accused of forgery, etc. On his part, the accused has been defending himself in interviews, etc.
