Coronavirus lockdown had lead to every industry coming to a standstill and even film industry and television industry works were halted. However, now the shootings are set to begin in Tamil Nadu.
On May 21, the Tamil Nadu government had given permission to the FEFSI and STEPS unions to conduct shootings of films and TV serials with a maximum limit of 20 artists and technicians involved. However, the associations had raised an issue that 20 was a very small number to proceed with the shooting.
Following this request from the associations, TN chief minister Edappadi Palanisamy has made a new announcement that shootings can be conducted with 60 actors and technicians and that the teams must seek permission from corporation commissioner and respective district collectors to shoot, and follow Coronavirus safety guidelines advised by government.
