A 29-year-old television anchor from Karnataka has committed suicide after her boyfriend refused to marry her. Anchor Chandana who committed suicide, shot a selfie video before dying, and had accused that her boyfriend Dinesh was the reason for her decision.

The Suddaguntepalya police have filed a case of abetment to suicide against Dinesh and his family, and a team has been formed to arrest the accused who are absconding. Chandana who has appeared in several advertisements as well, lived in Krishnamurthy Layout in Tavarekere.

As reported by police, Chandana had consumed poison after the video. Accusing Dinesh for her decision, she had later sent the video to Dinesh, his parents, her parents and friends on May 28. After the video reached them, Chandana's parents informed neighbours to go check on her. However as she was taken to a hospital she died while undergoing treatment. Police have found that Dinesh had borrowed Rs 5 lakh from Chandana, and later refused to marry her and avoided her.
