Padamati Sandhya Ragam, a beloved Zee TV serial, has recently crossed 500 episodes and continues to thrive. Prithvi Raj, who has captured audiences with his performance, shares his insights into the show's success and his journey as an actor.
The show is known for its unique storytelling and strong characters. What can you tell us about the upcoming back episode and the marriage sequence?
Prithvi Raj: The back episode is going to be very interesting! We're filming a marriage sequence, but it's not your typical, festive affair. There will be twists and turns, making it a unique and engaging experience for viewers. We're excited to see how the audience reacts to this fresh approach.
How did you enter the Telugu industry and become part of Padamati Sandhya Ragam?
Prithvi Raj: I'm originally from Bengaluru and have done a few films and serials there. Zee TV offered me a role in "Maa Vaaru Mastaru," which was my debut in Telugu television. This led to my involvement in Padamati Sandhya Ragam, which has become a blockbuster show. I'm grateful for the opportunities Zee TV has given me.
You joined the show mid-way. How did you decide to take on this challenge?
Prithvi Raj: After "Maa Vaaru Mastaru," Zee TV approached me for Padamati Sandhya Ragam. I was initially hesitant, as I'd never joined a show or film mid-way before. I was concerned about how viewers would receive a new face in a character that had already been established by another actor. However, Zee TV assured me that my presence would elevate the show to the next level and encouraged me to trust them. Their confidence in me made me decide to take the leap and see how the audience would react.
From which episode did you join the show?
Prithvi Raj: I believe I joined from the 350th episode.
Did you watch previous episodes to get a better grasp of the story and characters?
Prithvi Raj: Yes, when they approached me, I sought advice from various directors and did my homework to understand the show's dynamics.
Are you more focused on serials or films?
Prithvi Raj: I'm actively involved in both mediums. I had a film release in Kannada in May, another one came out in 2022, and I'm simultaneously working on serials.
How did you navigate the challenge of learning Telugu and handling prompting during shoots?
Prithvi Raj: In Kannada, we had to learn not only our own dialogues but also our co-stars' lines, all on set. So, compared to that, handling prompting felt easier.
In Kannada, live dubbing during shoots is the norm. Is that common in Telugu too?
Prithvi Raj: Yes, in Kannada, actors have to dub live with their own voices during the shoot. There's no concept of dubbing later except for one specific channel.
What languages do you know, and how did you learn them?
Prithvi Raj: I've learned Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and a bit of Malayalam through watching films since childhood. Living in Bengaluru, where people from diverse linguistic backgrounds reside, has been an advantage. I've picked up many languages through conversations with friends.
Which character do you enjoy more, Charu or Aadya?
Prithvi Raj: I respect both characters as they each play their roles effectively.
Between the characters of Boss, Preeti, and Hanvika, who do you connect with more?
Prithvi Raj: Hanvika.
Who are you closer to on set, Preeti or Hanvika?
Prithvi Raj: I was closer to Preeti initially, as we had more scenes together when I first joined the show.
Preeti is known for her energetic personality. How do you manage working with her on set?
Prithvi Raj: It's like the saying, "opposites attract." I'm calm and subtle, while she's vibrant and lively. It's a good combination, but we both being talkative can be a bit much at times! It's a lively mix, for sure.
Are you married?
Prithvi Raj: No, I'm single.
When are you planning to get married?
Prithvi Raj: Not soon, but I am open to it.
When did you enter the acting field?
Prithvi Raj: It's been five years now.
In five years, Padamati Sandhya Ragam has become a chartbuster. What do you attribute this success to?
Prithvi Raj: Yes, it has. I believe the show's success comes from its unique storytelling, engaging characters, and the hard work of the entire team.
What message do you have for the viewers of Padamati Sandhya Ragam?
Prithvi Raj: I want to thank Zee Telugu and the viewers of Padamati Sandhya Ragam for their warm reception. Your love and support mean a lot. I hope you continue to enjoy the show, and with your support, we can keep Padamati Sandhya Ragam as Zee's No. 1 show! We all love you from Team Padamati Sandhya Ragam.
