TV actor arrested for raping and videographing woman

The law is so strong in favor of women that rape of any kind including consensual sex on the pretext of marrying is punishable. TV actor Karan Oberoi has been arrested and remanded to custody till May 9th on a rape and blackmail FIR filed by a woman in 2018.

According to the reports, the 34-year-old woman met Karan Oberoi through a dating app in 2016 and after a year he had given her a drugged glass of coconut milk and raped her and filmed the act. It is said that even after that he had raped her after promising to marry her but did not do so and instead blackmailed her with the video and extorted cash and jewels.

Karan Oberoi is known for the serials 'Swabhimaan'. 'Saaya' and the recent web series 'Inside Edge'.
