Actor Tushar Kapoor recently completed twenty years in the film industry. Belonging to a filmy background, it was relatively easy for him to get a break as the lead actor. His first lead role was in the 2001 film 'Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai' where he shared screen with Kareena Kapoor. As we know that Bollywood can be quite toxic for new comers, Tushar also experienced somewhat similar treatment.
The actor recently opened up about the terrible career threatening advices he was given in the initial phase of his career. He asked to hide behind the image of a brawler and act like Shahrukh Khan.
Tushar says, "At the beginning of my career, I was this quiet type. People would give me crazy advice - jhagda karlo parties mein (get into a fight at parties), xyz type ke scene mein Shah Rukh Khan ke jaise emote karo (emote like Shah Rukh Khan in the xyz scene) and so on. It was really funny. It was also scary because I came from a film family and was told all this. It was hard to imagine what people who came from non-film families went through."
"You’d almost start second-guessing everything you did. Gradually, I figured that if a film is good and one has been sincere, nothing can mess with your mind," he added.
