'Tuck Jagadish' is all set for a direct-to-service release, media reports are saying. It's speculated that the makers of the Nani-starrer have sold their movie to Amazon Prime, which in July released Venkatesh's 'Narappa' on its platform.
Directed by Shiva Nirvana, 'Tuck Jagadish' is the second major Nani film to skip a theatrical release since the onset of the pandemic. Last year, after waiting for several months for the theatres to reopen, 'V' was released on Prime. The direct release turned out to be a blessing for 'V', whose producer Dil Raju made a smart decision just in time.
It was speculated that 'Tuck Jagadish', also starring Ritu Varma, Aishwarya Rajesh and Jagapathi Babu, will release ahead of Independence Day in theaters. But the threat of the impending third wave seems to have forced the makers of the film to bypass theatres.
Besides the family entertainer, Nithin's 'Maestro' and Venkatesh's 'Drushyam 2' are also going to release on OTT platforms in the coming months. The Telugu audience can expect a few more films to release on OTT for Dasara and Diwali if the pandemic doesn't subside for all practical purposes. OTT giants may already be trying to capitalize on the festive spending by releasing movies for festivals.
