An eminent actor, T.S.Balaiya has been one of the leading actors in Tamil cinema for over 60 years. He made his debut in Tamil cinema through the film Sathileelavathi. Movies like Kadhalikka Neramillai, Ooty Varai Uravu, and Thillana Mohanambal became milestones for his comedic performances.
T.S.Balaiya's younger son, Jai Balaiya, is pursuing a career in the arts as a dubbing artist, mimicry artist, and supporting actor. He has shared many interesting anecdotes about his father, T.S.Balaiya.
"My father had no interest in academics; he had a desire to act in films. That's why he left his hometown. After that, he worked in various places like hotels and circus companies. It was through connections made there that he got into drama and later into cinema.
In the film Sathileelavathi, my father, T.S.Balaiya, played the role of a villain, while revolutionary leader M.G.R. was the lead actor. During the filming of that movie, they became good friends.
Later, my father got the opportunity to act in the film Rajakumari, and he expressed that he wanted to play the villain's role, suggesting Ramachandran for the hero's role. He later mentioned in the book Why I Was Born as a Revolutionary Leader that T.S.Balaiya was a significant reason for him becoming an actor.
Writers would refer to my father as the formidable villain Balaiya. He acted as a villain alongside notable figures like Thyagaraja Bhagavathar and M.G.R. As a result, people would criticize him and curse him harshly. The actor Nambiar once remarked that people would criticize him just as they do my father.
Being born as the son of a great actor is my fortune. The great leader Kamarajar had a deep affection for my father. One day, my father insisted that Kamarajar must visit our home. Kamarajar came to our house and blessed all of us.
I started a music group called 'Thiraithen Isai Kuzhu' to showcase my talents to the public. I have a strong desire to sing.
Thus, he spoke in the first part of the interview.
