Donald Trump, last weekend, threw a hint that H-1B and L-1 visas could be suspended altogether while the current beneficiaries might likely continue to have exceptions. The exceptions for those currently living in the US will be implemented in the interest of big businesses in the country.
"One possibility under consideration would restrict people from entering the U.S. on visa categories including the H-1B program for as long as 180 days," The Print has quoted Bloomberg as reporting.
Even those who have been granted a visa will have to wait until the new order expires.
As many as 2,40,000 applicants will be in for a loss, staring at an uncertain future.
As is known, the H-1B visas are meant for high-skilled workers, the L-1 visas is for managers transferring within their companies, while H-2B visas are for temporary workers in the non-agri sectors.
