In a shocking incident, an MLA of the Telengana Rashtra Samiti was arrested for misbehaving with a woman IAS officer while at a government event in Mahadubabad district. The MLA, who said he had no adverse intentions, was later released on bail.

MLA B Shankar Nayak was caught on camera inappropriately touching the woman IAS officer during the Harita Haram launch in Mahadubabad district. In the video, the MLA can be seen grabbing the officer`s arm and she struggles to free herself.

The local MLA was arrested under charges of assaulting a public servant, assaulting a woman with intent to outrage her modesty and insulting the modesty of a woman by word, gesture or act.

Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said the MLA had to apologise personally to the collector and asked the Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari and TRS MP Sitaram Naik to “settle the matter” with the collector.
