Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said in Rajya Sabha that the way Andhra Pradesh was divided in 2013 was objectionable because the Congress party did it in an undemocratic fashion. Modi said that BJP was not against the creation of Telangana.
The remarks have been deemed to be anti-Telangana by TRS. Soon after the speech, TRS leader and Minister KT Rama Rao said that Modi's comments are utterly disgraceful. He said that the PM has repeatedly insulted the decades of spirited struggle and sacrifices of the people of Telangana. "I strongly condemn the absurd comments of the PM and demand that he apologise to the people of Telangana," KTR wrote.
Today, TRS leader and MLC Kavitha Kalvakuntla wrote that the TRS marks its protest against the "insensitive" remarks of Modi. "Telangana is a reality because of the fight put up by the people of the State. It was the sheer grit and certitude of people that made all political parties support us in creating Telangana," she added.
Yesterday, Congress leader Revanth Reddy said that Modi has been spewing venom on Telangana.
