The Censor Board, if sources are to be believed, has halted the release of Thambivudayaan, a film which has some 'controversial scenes' on the water crisis in Cauvery delta.

Directed by Raja Mahesh, the movie is about a youth, who decides to wage a battle seeking water for his region. Talking to reporters recently, the filmmaker said, "Born and brought up in Thanjavur, I was a witness to all troubles. When there are clear rules on sharing water between two States, one wonders why Tamil Nadu is denied its due share?"

He added: "Water crisis in the Cauvery delta is alarming. The film is set to explore the reason why Tamil Nadu is denied its due share of water." Produced by Maheswari Raja and Angneeshwar Anbum, newcomers Adhithya and Manisha Chatterje play the lead roles in Thambivudayaan.
