Soujanya Srinivas, who is Trivikram Srinivas' wife, is a Kuchipudi exponent. She gave a dance ballet performance named Meenakshi Kalyanam at Shilpa Kala Vedika in Hyderabad on Friday. Choreographed by Pasumarthy Ramalinga Sastry, the performance was enthralling. The dancer played Parvati's incarnation Meenakshi.

Graced by actor-politician Pawan Kalyan as the chief guest, the event also had in attendance 'Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo' maker Trivikram Srinivas, Tanikella Bharani, Haarika & Hassine Creations' S Radha Krishna, Sithara Entertainmnets' Naga Vamsi, among others. Talking abou the performance, the organizers said that Bhamidipally Narasimha Murthy scripted the ballet. It was set to music by DVS Sastry.

The matrimony of Meenakshi and Lord Sundareshwar was the theme of the show. From live music, props, costumes to special effects, it was a spot-on stage show. Rendered by Gopika Purnima and Pasumarthy Padma, the song gave a glimpse of how Shiva and Parvati danced in unison before taking birth as Sundareshwar and Meenakshi. The exquisite beauty of folk traditions from Tamil Nadu was also highlighted.

'Bheemla Nayak' actor Pawan Kalyan appreciated Soujanya Srinivas and the other talents associated with the show. The Jana Sena chief said that the reception by the spectators had amazed him. Remembering our roots and traditions is important, he added.

Trivikram observed that the story of Meenakshi and Lord Sundareshwar is symbolic. In his style, the writer-director said that life itself is inherently beautiful. "If one can recognize the innate beauty of the other, life itself is a grand ceremony of sorts. But for the fact that it was my better half performing on the stage, I have watched the performance as an audience member. Kuchipudi or any dance form is ultimately an art of storytelling," he opined, adding that his wife and Pawan are the two most important people in his life.
