Trivikram Srinivas says that the influence of Mullapudi on him has been great. Getting inspired by the works of literary stalwarts, however, is not limited to one or two writers in the case of this celebrated dialogue writer of Telugu cinema. "I have read every work of Mullapudi garu. I am often inspired by others also. For example, I was inspired by the novel 'Shadow' to write a scene in Athadu. After I wrote the scene, I went to meet Madhu Babu (the novel's author) to thank him. Though I get inspired by an Iranian film or a Chinese film at times, it would not be possible for me to go and meet the original creators every time," says the writer-director.

Known for being minimalist in speech, Trivikram believes in letting his views known through his cinema. But he surprised many when he spoke at length on Sirivennela Seetharama Sastry’s lyrical greatness on an occasion. "Pain and anger made me speak at length that day. I respect and revere many gurus in my life. When they do not get their due recognition, I am agonized. Why don't we give greats their due? K Vishwanath, Bapu made great cinema. It is my complaint that we do not respect them enough."

He feels that Khaleja did not give the audience what they expected from it. It was like a politician making a speech on entertainment, he gives an analogy.

He awaits the release of Julayi, which he could thankfully complete on time. He is readying the script for his next with Pawan Kalyan.
