'SIR', starring Dhanush in the lead, was launched today. Directed by Venky Atluri, the film's launch event was attended by Trivikram Srinivas as the guest. S Naga Vamsi of Sithara Entertainments is producing this Telugu debut of Dhanush. To be made as 'Vaathi' in Tamil, the project will go on the floors on January 5.

Starring Samyuktha Menon, the 'Charming Beauty' of Malayalam cinema as the heroine, the Telugu-Tamil bilingual is co-produced by Trivikram's wife Sai Soujanya of Fortune Four Cinemas. The launch event was also attended by industrialist Suresh Chukkapalli. S Radha Krishna of Haarika & Hassine Creations, producers Dr. KL Narayana of Durga Arts, ML Kumar Chowdhary, Pragathi Printers' Mahendra and others also were in attendance.

The first schedule will take place in Hyderabad. 'An ambitious journey of a common man' is the tagline of the film.

If GV Prakash Kumar is the music director, Dinesh Krishnan of 'Sethupathi', 'Thegidi', 'Maara' and 'Soodhu Kavvum' fame is its cinematographer. Sai Kumar, Tanikella Bharani and Narra Srinivas have pivotal roles.
