Is Rudra of 'Kodi' another Neelambari?- Trisha's answer

Actress Trisha has played her first ever negative character in 'Kodi' which is also her first film with multi-talented star Dhanush. While the film is all set to hit the screens tomorrow amid the Diwali festive mood is spread all over, the evergreen charmer spoke in detail about her character in a recent interview.
As soon as news started spreading that Trisha plays a negative character in a political thriller, people started comparing with the Neelambari character of 'Padayappa' portrayed effectively by Ramya Krishnan
But Trisha says her character in 'Kodi' has common aspects with her own films such as the blockbuster 'Ghilli' and super hit 'Vinnai Thandi Varuvaaya'.
"In Ghilli it was a innocent role but definitely strong role though it was one of my first few films. Dharani wrote the character as parallel to Vijay's. The same with VTV. It was very parallel to the hero. Jessie character is the centre of attention in that script.
Same goes with Rudra of 'Kodi'. It is a very strong and powerful character. Not a girl next door or innocent. Highly ambitious. One who would doesn't mind committing wrong for coming up in life. So it was not a character i was easily able to relate to. It is a very strong character and very important for the film.
The former Ms.Madras also threw some light on how Rudra is different from Neelambari.
"Many people ask whether it will be as powerful as 'Neelambari of 'Padayappa'. I request to avoid comparisons. 'Padayappa' is a commercial mass film. This is a very raw and real film. Generally political dramas will be relatively realistic. It will be rural and raw. I should not use my hands to convey anything through gestures. The character is so ambitious and that makes its negativity palpable."
With these words from the ageless heroine, Rudra of 'Kodi' promises to be the most memorable character played by Trisha in her illustrious career. We hope she gets more such powerful characters in future and she continues to entertain us for many more years.
