Mani Ratnam's much-awaited film adaptation of the Tamil literary novel Ponniyin Selvan is getting bigger by the day with each new addition to the cast adding excitement to the fans. While it was recently announced that Malayalam actor Jayaram has signed up for the film, rumours are now doing the rounds that Trisha has been roped in for a significant role in the project as well.

Ponniyin Selvan will reportedly feature 50 characters, of which Vikram will reportedly be doing the role of Aditya Karikaalan, Amitabh Bachchan as Sundara Chozhar, Sathyaraj as Periya Pazhuvettaraiyar, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as Nandhini, Jayam Ravi as Arulmozhi Varman, Keerthy Suresh as Kunthavai Naachiyaar and Karthi as Vanthiya Devan.

The official cast and crew of the movie are expected to be announced by Mani Ratnam soon. Ponniyin Selvan is jointly produced by Lyca Productions and Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies.
