The pure romance film '96' starring Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha has appealed to all sections of the audiences and its one of the biggest hits of 2018 considering its budget. The film directed by Premkumar and produced by Nandagopal has been snapped up by Sun Group for satellite broadcast.

Sun Tv has scheduled '96' as one of its high profile Diwali day telecasts on November 6th much to the chagrin of fans and the cast and crew. Trisha has sent out a request stating " ts our 5th week and we still have an 80% occupancy in all theatres. We as a team feel its unfair to be premiering 96 this early. Its our request to push it to a Pongal viewing pls .Will be grateful" It remains to be seen if the television giant relents or telecast the much loved movie as advertised.
