The response in Chennai to their Telugu releases 'Bodyguard' and 'Businessman' have made Trisha and Kajal happy, respectively. "Since both the actresses did not have any Tamil release in the last few months, they are glad that these Tollywood films have bridged the gap," say sources.

While 'Businessman' which has Mahesh Babu and Kajal Aggarwal in lead roles has hit a whopping number of 14 theatres in Chennai, 'Bodyguard', Venkatesh-Trisha starrer, is being screened at eight screens, including top multiplexes.

"This is despite competition from Kollywood biggies like Nanban and Vetai. The trend clearly shows that the audience for Telugu films in Chennai has tremendously increased," says the manager of a cinema hall in a northern suburb of Chennai.

Interestingly, both 'Businessman' and 'Bodyguard' have been distributed in Tamil Nadu by Studio Green run by Gnanavelraja, who is a close relative to Suriya and Karthi. While 'Businessman' is directed by Puri Jagannadh of 'Pokiri' fame, 'Bodyguard' is a remake of 'Kaavalan' which by itself is a remake.
