High Court judgement in long pending Trisha case

For the year 2010-11 actress Trisha had filed income tax returns and had not disclosed an amount of Rupees 3.52 Crores and paid her tax for the remaining amount. However later filed a revised tax returns and brought the amount in. The IT department however alleged her of purposefully concealing her income and levied a penalty of Rs. 1.11 Crores.
Trisha filed an appeal at the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal in Nungambakkam and they ruled in favour of her. The IT department then went to the High Court and the case came up for hearing on Friday. The judges dismissed the case stating that "We have concluded that the assessee is not guilty of deliberate concealment of income and is not liable to be mulcted with penalty under the Income Tax Act,".
Trisha is currently playing the lead roles in '96' opposite Vijay Sethupathi and 'Mohini' in which she plays dual characters.
