Trisha was last seen on screen playing a cameo as Superstar Rajnikanth's wife in the Karthik Subbaraj directorial blockbuster Petta, and is currently starring in many movies like Paramapatham Vilaiyattu, Engeyum Eppothum Saravanan's Raangi and an untitled movie co-starring Simran.

Now one of her long delayed projects is gearing up for a release soon. Trisha starrer Garjanai which had been in the making for long, is ready for release, and it has been announced that the Tamil Nadu theatrical rights of the movie has been sold to SDC picturez and the movie release date will be out soon.

Garjanai also stars Amit Bhargav and Vamsi Krishna and it was said that the movie will be based on the Bollywood hit movie NH10 that had Anushka Sharma in lead role. Garjanai is directed by Sundar Balu and is produced by Century International films.
