Trisha strikes big at almost the twilight of her career, well, at least of the prime of her career. The 30-plus actress who recently completed a decade in films without any major awards for her acting prowess is making her debut in Kannada films. She is set to play the female lead in the Kannada remake of the Telugu super-hit film Dookudu which would have top Kannada star Puneet Rajkumar in the lead.

Released in 2011, the action comedy Dookudu went on to register the biggest blockbuster of Super Star Mahesh Babu's career with Samantha paired opposite the Prince. The producers of the Telugu version Anil Sunkara, Ram Achanta and Gopichand Achanta are now planning to make the film in Kannada as well.

Though Kannada films don't boast to have markets as big as Telugu, Trisha is said to be assured of Re.1 Crore to star in the film. Kannada films have been doing well in theatres in recent times and this should have given the producers the requisite confidence to make a big-budget film. Though Trisha hasn't gone public about her huge pay-packet for the film, it is said that the producers would soon make an official announcement about the same.
