Trisha acquitted in Income Tax case

Trisha Krishnan has got a relief in a long-pending Income Tax case related to the year 2010-11. The actress had filed allegedly not disclosed an income of Rs. 3.52 Cr during the said assessment year. Based on this charge, the IT department levied a penalty on her and asked her to pay Rs. 1.11 Cr.
Trisha then filed an appeal at the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal in Nungambakkam, which ruled the case in her favour. On its part, the IT department then went to the High Court and the case came up for hearing on Friday.
The news is that the judges have dismissed the case. The stated in the judgement that "the assessee is not guilty of deliberate concealment of income and is not liable to be mulcted with a penalty under the Income Tax Act,".
Trisha is currently playing the lead roles in '96' (Tamil) opposite Vijay Sethupathi and 'Mohini', in which she plays dual characters.
