Malayalam actors are lauded for their versatile acting talents and have garnered attention and respect from directors from other industries. Many of the leading actors of the industry are part of interesting projects from other South Indian states. They are now going to speak different languages and mesmerize a different crowd and taste.
Mohanlal, Mammootty, Fahad Fazil, Nivin Pauly etc. are now making a beeline to take a plunge in the lucrative industry there.
In earlier days only actresses forayed into other languages and actress from other states also came here to display their histrionic talents. Shobhana, Urvashi, Lissy, Ambika all went to other languages like Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi etc. Rarely were actors found trying their stint in other industries until Mammootty, Mohanlal , Jayaram etc were roped in by directors of other industries to don pivotal characters in their films. Dalapathi, Iruvar, Thenali are some of the films born out of the outing by these actors.
Again, these actors along with the new gen are going to mesmerize the film buffs of other states. Let us start with Mohanlal, he is busy with two Telugu films. Mohanlal films Manamantha` & Janatha Garage` are scheduled to release this year itself.
Jr. NTR. will be teaming with him in Janatha Garage. A Tamil film is also in the pipeline for him.
Mammootty will return to Tamil industry after a lengthy hiatus for almost 6 years. He is the lead actor in the film directed by Ram titled Peranbu. He will also be seen essaying the lead role in another Tamil film directed by Seenu Ramaswamy which is yet -to-be titled.
Nivian Pauly will be seen horning his histrionic talents in a Tamil film directed by Gautam Ramachandran. There is also news of another Tamil film in the offing.
Fahadh Fazil is the new entrant in the line of Mollywood actors who worked in Kollywood. He will play a negative role in Sivakarthikeyan`s next venture directed by M. Raja.
Jayaram , a familiar face in Tamil film world will now be seen in a Telugu movie title Bhajmati in a role of a politician.
Unni Mukundan is also busy in Telugu industry. After his role in Janatha Garage in a villain character, he will soon join the location of Bhagmati opposite to Anushka Shetty.
Such an attempt by actors would surely leave an indelible imprint in the minds of film lovers of other states. It will widen their fan base and in near future we could see malayalam films getting a new market in these states.
