Actor Karthi is currently busy shooting for director Mani Ratnam and has completed the ambitious project 'Kaashmora' directed by Gokul of 'Idharkuthaney Aasaipattai Balakumara' fame.

He is also regularly involved in the activities of Nadigar Sangam as he is the Treasurer. The new administration team headed by President Nasser fought the election on the plank of constructing a new building for the Nadigar Sangam in the land available in their premises.

The team has which taken over the administration after winning the elections in October last year has undertaken various fund raising activities to repay the loans of the Sangam and they are also taking steps to start the construction of the multi-storeyed building with various facilities.

Now in a recent interview, Karthi has revealed a new update about the status of the new building. He has said that the proposal for the building has been sent to the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) and the work will start once the approval is received. He added that the construction process will take one and half years for completion.

it is worth noting that Nadigar Sangam General Secretary Vishal has vowed to get married only after the building is constructed and his wedding ceremony will take place in that building.
