Transgender model found dead in her apartment

A 26-year-old transwoman model named Sherin Celine Mathew was found dead in her apartment in Kerala on Tuesday. The model who had been posting quotes on being depressed, was found hanging from a ceiling fan. It is reported that she had some issues with her friends. The Police reached the spot and began inquest proceedings. A police officer said a case has been registered for unnatural death and prima facia it was a suicide. A detailed probe will be done soon.
It may be remembered that last year, trans woman radio jockey and model, Ananya Kumari Alex, was found dead in an apartment in Kochi. She took the extreme step following a botched sex reassignment surgery by a private hospital in Kochi. Her death had triggered a controversy in her community and members demanded action against the hospital that conducted the surgery, even though the hospital denied the charges. Following the protest, Health Minister Veena George had ordered a probe into Ananya's death.
