At the time of its release, Aamir Khan's film 'Laal Singh Chaddha' faced lots of negative publicity and boycott trends which led to a poor box office run. The film which was made with passion and years of hardwork, turned out to be a matter of loss for the producers. However, after the OTT release, 'Laal Singh Chaddha' started getting appreciation and several netizens admitted that they should've experienced the film in theatres.
Actor Manav Vij, who played a key role in the film, recently slammed people for getting influenced by negativity and causing loss to the producers. In a recent conversation with Mid-Day, Manav shared that several people apologised to him on Twitter for boycotting the film and he just suggested them to send 500 rupees to Aamir Khan.
The actor stated, "Many people also apologized to me on Twitter, saying they didn’t watch Laal Singh Chaddha in theatres following the boycott trend. But they loved it when they watched it on Netflix. I said, ‘If you were so apologetic, you should have transferred Rs. 500 to Aamir Khan Productions’ account. The producers are at a loss because of your stupidity.’”
Directed by Advait Chandan, 'Laal Singh Chaddha' was a remake of the 1994 Oscar winning film 'Forrest Gump'. While Aamir Khan played the titular lead, Manav Vij played a Pakistani terrorist who is saved by Laal and undergoes a change of heart.
