First love rocks. So does its trailer. Debutant director Venky Atluri's style could be straight out of Sekhar Kammula's notebook to an extent. His hero has a certain autobiographical tone. His first excitement is when he bumps into Varsha (Bespectacled Raashi Khanna wears that innocuous expression).

Varun Tej with his two looks is utterly convincing as far as the trailer is concerned. His dialogue-delivery has gravitas and he is confident. After 'Fidaa', this meaty role is what he needed.

In this film of mostly good characters, Shivakumar Ramachandravarapu seems to be the only bad apple. He is a talented actor who needs a hit. One hopes 'Tholi Prema' is the one.

If Thaman's BGM is expected to be great, George C Williams and Navin Nooli with their cinematography and editing score marks in the trailer. The US backdrop is lush. Kiran Kumar Manne's art direction is a potential highpoint.

Set to hit the screens on Feb 10, this one boasts of high production values (thanks to BVSN Prasad).
