'Khakee', starring Karthi in the role of a cop, is based on a series of true, macabre incidents that came to light between 1995 and 2005.

From what can be made out from the trailer, Karthi sets out to investigate a mysterious event that happened on a fateful night in West Godavari's Ravulapalem. Karthi's angst-ridden dialogues related to how the system prevents honest officers from discharging their duties with due diligence is striking. Chase sequences shot on vehicles and horses aside, the trailer throws up so much action.

Rakul Preet Singh as Karthi's romantic interest is once again seen in traditional attire. 'The Power of Police' is the tagline. A dubbed film (titled 'Theeran Adhigaram Ondru' inTamil), the film is produced in Telugu by Umesh Gupta, the MD of Aditya Music.

Set to hit the screens in November, it's directed by H Vinoth. Abhimanyu Singh has a key role. Ghibran is the music director. The cinematography is by Sathyan Sooryan.

A crime-actioner, it boasts of slice-of-life events as per the makers.
