Mohankrishna Indraganti-directed 'Ami Thumi' seems to balance it out when it comes to playing to the gallery and staying true to the subject. Or may be, the subject itself lends enough material to play it to the gallery in a positive sense.

Right from gay comedy to parodies (read Avasarala Srinivas' 'Swathi Muthyam act and the maid's 'Kumari da..'), the usual suspects are there. Tanikella Bharani has a much important role, and one hopes he doesn't come to be seen as over-the-top (which was the case with 'Naruda Donoruda'). By having Eesha swoon over a name, the director infuses a spoof on his own hit - 'Ashta Chamma'. The funny dig at Salman Khan's dancing style could bring the roof down.

Either Eesha or Tanikella Bharani have a hidden agenda, while Vennela Kishore may be a 'bakra' with a difference. Adivi Sesh looks impressive.

The film is slated to be released in the first week of June.
