Brilliant actor Pankaj Tripathi is back with another exciting project in which he's going to captivate the audience with his amazing acting skills and trademark humor. The trailer of his upcoming film 'Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga' was released on Friday and it features Tripathi in the role of a village head who attempts to battle wild animals and corruption in order to provide for his family and village.

The main plot of the film revolves around the protagonists plan to become prey of a tiger so that his family can get compensation from the government. The film is reportedly based on some real life events. The central theme of this seemingly lighthearted film reflects how poor and helpless people are forced to do unimaginable acts in order to satisfy their basic needs.

Talking about the film, director Srijit Mukherji said in a statement, "Sherdil: The Pilibhit Saga has been a dream project for years. After I read about the real life incidents in 2017, I immediately wrote the story and registered it and was wanting to make it for the longest time. So finally after 5 years the dream comes true and we bring you the story of Gangaram on the big screen."

Also starring Sayani Gupta and Neeraj Kabi, the film is set to release theatrically on 24th of June.
