Tragic death for newborn abandoned baby rescued from garbage

A two-day-old baby boy, rescued from the garbage in Kerala's Kollam district, died on Tuesday evening. The baby weighing 3 kilos was found abandoned covered under dry leaves behind a house early on Tuesday. After the inmates of the house found the baby hearing his non-stop cry, they immediately informed the Police and rushed to the hospital.

The baby's umbilical cord was not removed and it was covered by ants, informed the locals. However, the baby suffered a serious infection and breathed his last later the day. "As of now, there is no clue as to who abandoned the infant. We have registered a case and investigation is on," a police officer said. The Police have registered a case in the incident.
