TR seems to have watched the Chimbudevan directed fantasy flick in along with his family and released a statement in which he has praised the film.

"I have used huge sets in my films at a time when such things were considered as costly affairs and the industry was not used to the concept. But I was amazed to see the majestic sets in 'Puli'. Fantasy ideas like Black cheetah, speaking bird, mammoth tortoise were enjoyable and graphics work in these scenes was nice"
