According to the latest buzz, actor Tovino Thomas's much-awaited movie Minnal Murali is prepping up for a direct OTT release on Netflix. Though the makers had initially planned for a pan-Indian theatrical release in languages including - Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi, now the latest reports are that the makers have changed their mind and opted for a digital release owing to the uncertainty regarding the pandemic situation. The movie is likely to release in September.

Trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai tweeted that Netflix bagged the deal for a huge price. His tweet reads, "#OTT big deal – @ttovino super hero entertainer #MinnalMurali will premiere on @netflix in Sep! The big-budget film directed by @iBasil and produced by #SophiaPaul was grabbed for a high streaming price"

Directed by Basil Joseph, Minnal Murali has Tovino Thomas in the lead as a superhero.‘Minnal Murali’ also stars Tamil actor Guru Somasundaram, Aju Varghese, Baiju Santhosh, Harisree Ashokan, Mammukoya, debutante Femina George and many others. The film is scripted by Arun Anirudhan and Justin Mathew, camera is wielded by Sameer Thahir, and has music by Shaan Rahman. Sophia Paul of Weekend Blockbusters is producing the film.
