The latest hero of Malayalam cinema who is making a huge splash there is Tovino Thomas, with his last two flicks Oru Mexican Aparatha` and Godha` have been both critically acclaimed and super hits at the box office. Veteran female director B.R. Vijaylakshmi is bringing Tovino Thomas to Tamil cinema in a new movie produced by Santhosh Shivan. Ko` and 'Goa' fame Pia Bajpai has been roped in for the female lead.

Vijayalakshmi the daughter of legendary director B.R. Panthulu made a name for herself as Asia`s first female cinematographer working in 22 films. She later debuted as director with the SPB-Rahman starrer Paatu Padava` which had unforgettable songs from Ilayaraja. Now after twenty two years she is making a comeback and the official announcement will be out soon.
