After a long wait, the release date of Tovino Thomas' much-awaited superhero movie 'Minnal Murali' has been announced. The movie will be a Christmas special release and will be premiered on December 24 on Netflix. The movie went on floors on December 23 in 2019, and the shoot was suspended due to the pandemic and lockdown. However, soon after the COVID protocols were eased, the shoot was wrapped and has been in the headlines ever since it was announced.

Directed by Basil Joseph, Minnal Murali is touted to be the first superhero movie in Malayalam, Minnal Murali is the story of a common man who gets superpowers. Apart from Tovino, Kollywood star Guru Somasundaram, Sneha Babu, Aju Varghese, Harisree Asokan, and Baiju Santhosh are playing lead roles in the movie. Sofia Paul produced the movie and Sameer Thahir is the cinematographer. Shaan Rahman composed the music. The script was penned by Justin Mathew and Arun. The movie will be released in multiple languages including Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, and Kannada.
